About Insurance

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. I do not accept other insurance at this time.

Before you use it, there is something worth knowing.

Insurance requires a diagnosis code. That code goes into your medical record and stays there, regardless of how the work goes, regardless of how much changes, regardless of whether you would ever meet that criteria again. Insurers, future employers in certain fields, and other providers can see it. Some people decide that is a reasonable trade. Others, once they understand it, decide they would rather pay out of pocket and keep that part of their life private. Neither choice is wrong. It depends on your situation.

I understand the financial side of this. Not abstractly. I went without health insurance for years, made that calculation myself, and only recently learned firsthand what it costs when something serious shows up. A $200 session is not nothing. For some people it is genuinely not possible, and using insurance is the only way this kind of work is accessible to them. That matters to me. It is why I accept it.

If cost is a barrier, say so when you reach out. I keep a small number of reduced-fee slots for people who are doing the work of showing up and genuinely cannot meet the full fee. I would rather have that conversation than have you decide before we even talk that this is out of reach.
